Begin With The End In Mind

One of the seven habits in Stephen Covey's _Seven Habits Of Highly Effective People_ is to begin with the end in mind. He asks you to imagine that you are at your own funeral. "What would you like each of these speakers to say about you and your life ... What character would you like them to have seen in you? What contributions, what achievements would you want them to remember? ... What difference would you like to have made in their lives?".

I gave this some thought years ago and came up with a simple answer, one that I can at least remember, and be able to fit on a headstone. It is to be remembered as "a dutiful son, a faithful husband, a loving father, and a loyal friend."

What's your answer?
